Profit sharing Approach Continues to Pay Dividends

Profit sharing Approach Continues to Pay Dividends

Share Energy CEO Damian Wilson's latest interview with Business Eye Magazine is out today and it covers a lot of ground, including gas wholesale price volatility, why Northern Ireland's electricity grid is no longer fit for purpose, the inertia in our market that we're all navigating right now and why Share Energy genuinely believes a government funded switching awareness campaign is long overdue.

But the thing we keep coming back to is this: around 60% of electricity customers in Northern Ireland stick with Power NI and don't consider switching. Not once.

They'll shop around for broadband without a second thought. They'll compare car insurance every year. But electricity? It stays in the 'too hard' pile, often because people confuse NIE Networks, who deliver the power to your meter, with the supplier they choose after that. They're not the same thing, and that confusion is costing households hundreds of pounds a year.

Some customers can save up to £300 by making the right switch. For a pensioner, that's worth more than the winter fuel allowance.

We're not waiting for autumn to sort itself out. We're spending the summer making the case for switching and for a different kind of energy company. One that's open with its customers, gives back through profit sharing and believes that loyalty should be rewarded, not taken for granted.

If you're in Northern Ireland and you haven't reviewed your electricity supplier recently, now is a good time to start asking questions.
